His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi Agreed to Place the “Bibliotheca Alexandrina International Award” under His Gracious Patronage

His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, the President of the Republic of Egypt, agreed to place the “Bibliotheca Alexandrina International Award 2025” under his gracious patronage. Prof. Ahmed A. Zayed, the Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina (BA) expressed his overwhelming happiness with this generous gesture and genuinely thanked His Excellency the President, on his behalf, and on behalf of all BA employees. Prof. Ahmed A. Zayed stated that His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s auspices of the “Bibliotheca Alexandrina International Award” gives it more importance and recognition at both the local and international levels, noting that this essentially reflects His Excellency’s interest in ensuring that the Bibliotheca Alexandrina achieves its sublime enlightenment mission, as Egypt’s window on the world, and the world’s window on Egypt.
It is worth noting that this is the first time that the Bibliotheca Alexandrina has launched an international award, a top-level award (in addition to its other local awards), with a monetary value of one million Egyptian pounds, besides a golden medal and an official certificate of excellence. The Award is granted annually to a distinguished figure in the field of fundamental or applied sciences, or in the field of literature, arts, social sciences, and the humanities, in Egypt and the world, provided that the recipient has made a distinguished scientific contribution. The Award may also be granted to an institution that has made a prominent contribution in the subject of the Award. The Award is granted in a single field determined by the Award’s Higher Committee each year and announced in advance. This year’s subject is under the title “Green Technology Applications for Achieving Well-Being and Happiness for Humanity.” The BA will announce the results very soon.
