On the Sidelines of the BA Celebration of his Centenary: Dr. Ahmed Zayed…Mourad Wahba's Intellectual Project Will Persist

The BA hosted a session entitled «Testimonies on Dr. Mourad Wahba», as part of the events celebrating his centenary, with the participation of a select group of thinkers and academics. The session was moderated by journalist Eman Raslan.
Ms. Raslan said that Dr. Mourad Wahba was one of the most prominent defenders of incorporating philosophy in the educational curricula and rejecting the decision to eliminate it during Kamal El-Din Hussein's tenure as Minister of Education, noting that he led a broad intellectual campaign that contributed to reversing the decision. She also mentioned that Dr. Wahba served as scientific advisor to the late President Gamal Abdel Nasser.
The third session was titled "Dialogue on the Contributions of Dr. Mourad Wahba", and was moderated by Dr. Ahmed Abdullah Zayed, Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina. Other participants included Dr. Magdy Abdel Hafez, Professor of Philosophy at the Faculty of Arts, Helwan University; Dr. Ashraf Mansour, Head of the Philosophy Department at the Faculty of Arts, Alexandria University; Dr. Saeed Tawfik, Professor of Aesthetics and Contemporary Philosophy at the Faculty of Arts, Cairo University; and journalist Taha Farghali, Editor-in-Chief of Dar Al Hilal.
