The two-volume publication traces the history and architecture of Al-Azhar. It takes readers to a journey in time and place unleashing its various treasures—including manuscripts, art pieces and Mushafs (Quran volumes)— all backed with documentation and photo guide.

This comprehensive encyclopedia was compiled over the course of 3 years by a team of researchers, architects, photographers and calligraphers from the BA, Al-Azhar, and the Islamic Art Museum in Cairo, in addition to team members from Iraq.
