A New Memorandum of Cooperation between the BA and ICESCO in Rabat

In an outstanding cultural and scientific event, Rabat has witnessed the signing of a new memorandum of cooperation between the Bibliotheca Alexandrina and ICESCO (Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization), in the presence of Dr. Ahmed Zayed, Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina; Dr. Abdelilah Benarfa, Deputy Director General of ICESCO; Ambassador Khaled Fath Al-Rahman, Director of the Center for Civilizational Dialogue and the event coordinator; and a number of cultural and scientific officials from various Islamic countries.
This agreement comes within the framework of strengthening the partnership between the two institutions that has been ongoing since 2004, and is a continuation of a long process of cooperation that contributed to the advancement of joint efforts in the fields of culture, education, and science.
Dr. Ahmed Zayed said that this agreement represents an important step towards strengthening relations between the Library and ISESCO, noting that the cooperation between the two sides is a genuine example of a cultural and scientific partnership that benefits Arab and Islamic societies.
For his part, Dr. Abdelilah Benarfa expressed his appreciation for the Bibliotheca Alexandrina as an international cultural institution that contributes to the development of education and scientific research.
The signing of the agreement came at the end of the international symposium "Al-Aqqad and the Islamic World", held by ISESCO and the BA to highlight the intellectual contributions of the great Egyptian writer and thinker Abbas Mahmoud Al-Aqqad.
