As part of its pioneering cultural and educational role, the BA Writing and Scripts Center organized the first Arabic calligraphy competition for students of Beheira Governorate for the year 2025, in cooperation with the Governorate’s Directorate of Education, in a step aimed at discovering student talents and developing aesthetic and artistic awareness among children and young people. The competition provides Beheira students with the opportunity to showcase their artistic abilities in the field of Arabic calligraphy and stimulate their connection to one of the most prominent components of Arab and Islamic cultural identity, which contributes to consolidating the values of beauty and cultural belonging in them.
This initiative comes as part of the Writing and Scripts Center’s continued interest in the arts of Arabic calligraphy, as it is an authentic element of Egyptian cultural identity. 27 male and female students from different educational levels (primary, preparatory, and secondary) took part in the competition, representing 22 schools affiliated with 9 educational departments in Beheira Governorate, after passing the final qualifying stages for participation.
The judging process took place according to precise technical standards, under the supervision of Mr. Mohamed Al-Maghrabi, former Director of Mohamed Ibrahim School of Arabic Calligraphy, and with the active participation of researchers from the BA Writing and Scripts Center, in a way that ensures integrity and artistic quality in evaluating students' works.
