The Bibliotheca Alexandrina confirms that the book Medicine in Egypt: A Journey through Time is a scholarly work that reflects its interest in preserving and documenting Egypt's scientific and cultural heritage, while monitoring the development of human knowledge across various fields, including medicine and the pharmaceutical industry.

This book was prepared by a select group of BA academic specialists, who have research and scientific expertise in the fields of history, documentation, and digitization, within an organized institutional framework and in accordance with approved scientific and methodological standards. The documentation was carried out according to a precise timeline.

The book addresses the historical evolution of the healthcare and medicine system in Egypt within a non-evaluative research documentation framework, starting from ancient Egypt, through the Islamic era, and up to the modern age.

The book was produced in collaboration with the Egyptian Drug Authority, under a legally binding contract, effective from 1 July 2025, which clearly defines the scope of cooperation, the obligations of each party, and the mechanisms for reviewing and approving the content.

The Bibliotheca Alexandrina stresses that the book's deposit number and ISBN were obtained from the Egyptian National Library and Archives in August 2025, in accordance with the applicable legal procedures, and prior to the final stages of production and printing. The deposit number is 16651/2025 and its ISBN is 978-977-452-778-7.

The Bibliotheca Alexandrina confirms that it delivered the entire scientific and historical content of the book to the Egyptian Drug Authority in October 2025 for final review prior to the final production and printing process, following dozens of correspondences and meetings between the two institutions. These measures were implemented in compliance with the provisions of the contract to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and consistency of the information with the applicable regulatory rules and controls. The book bears the logos of both institutions, retaining the Library’s intellectual property rights.

The Library also states that the content of the book does not include any regulatory recommendations, executive decisions, or binding directives, and that its role is limited to historical presentation and documentation, within the Library’s cultural and scientific role as an independent national institution. The Library reserves all legal and moral rights related to the book, in accordance with the provisions of the laws governing intellectual property and contracts, without prejudice to the rights of partners or what has been contractually agreed upon.
