Ministers of Culture and Higher Education Visit the BA Pavilion at Cairo International Book Fair

Dr. Ahmed Fouad Heno, Minister of Culture, and Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education, visited this morning the Bibliotheca Alexandrina pavilion at the Cairo International Book Fair, following the opening of its 57th edition by Prime Minister Dr. Moustafa Madbouly. They were welcomed by Dr. Ahmed Zayed, Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina; Dr. Mohamed Soliman, Deputy Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina; and a host of the Library's senior staff.
The BA Director also welcomed Dr. Alaa Abdel Hady, President of the General Syndicate of the Egyptian Writers Union; Eng. Abdel Sadek El-Shorbagy, President of the National Press Authority; Mr. Ahmed El-Meslemany, President of the National Media Authority; Ahmed Bin Rakkad Al-Ameri, CEO of the Sharjah Book Authority; and journalist Islam Afifi, Chairman of Akhbar El-Yom.
Dr. Ahmed Zayed said that the Bibliotheca Alexandrina is keen to participate annually in the Cairo International Book Fair by presenting its latest titles, which have reached 1,157 books to date in various fields of knowledge and the humanities, specifically in the field of heritage documentation and studies. In addition, the Library offers a series of books on the heritage of humanity for young people, which has reached 100 booklets in three years. Each title is no more than 50 pages long and discusses the biographies of thinkers, writers, scientists, and art icons from Akhenaten to the present day in simple, uncomplicated language.
The Library also offers its latest titles in the fields of politics, economics, strategy, and art, in addition to several manuscripts and the latest issues of The Memory of Egypt magazine, which documents Egyptian history. The latest books on the philosopher Dr. Mourad Wahba, who passed away a few weeks ago, will also be published during the fair.
It is worth mentioning that the Bibliotheca Alexandrina is taking part in the 57th round of the Cairo International Book Fair with two distinctive pavilions, one for sales (Hall 1, Pavilion B5) and the other for display (Hall 3, Pavilion B2). Through these two pavilions, the Library is presenting to the fair’s visitors more than 500 titles from its latest and most prominent publications. It also offers a special 20% discount on all its publications that is valid for the duration of the fair.
