Interact with Today’s World
Bibliotheca Alexandrina has hosted the 4th annual event organized by the IEEE Alex Student Branch, titled “Interact with Today’s World” from 2-4 July 2010. The event has taken place under the auspices of the International School of Information Science at the BA, and with the sponsorship of prominent companies in the ICT field like ITIDA, Cisco Academy, Vision Solutions and Pi-Tech. The event was well attended with over 500 students from the faculty of Engineering, Alexandria University and other interested individuals.
Dr Said El Khamy, President of the IEEE Alex Student Branch, gave the opening speech of the event, followed by Dr Ismail Serageldin, Director of the BA, who gave the keynote lecture “The Seven Pillars of the Knowledge Revolution”. The event was also attended by many Professors of Engineering as well as many prominent local IT specialists and business men.
The event mainly tackled the newest technologies in Telecommunication, Microelectronics and Industrial Automation. In addition, the event also shed some light on soft skills development; like coping with change, planning, effective communication skills, etc., that are considered key factors of success for individuals personally and professionally.
