The Bibliotheca Alexandrina holds VI-SEEM National Dissemination Event
In partnership with VI-SEEM, the Bibliotheca Alexandrina (BA) held a one-day national dissemination event on the 28th of September, at the BA’s premises. The event aims to introduce the EU-funded project and raise awareness of the different resources provided by the BA, to members of the different scientific communities in Egypt.

BA Elected to Serve on the International Internet Preservation Consortium (IIPC) Steering Committee
In response to the call for candidates to serve on the International Internet Preservation Consortium (IIPC) Steering Committee from 2017 to 2020, the Bibliotheca Alexandrina (BA) has put itself forward and has been elected to join the steering committee for the next three years. The results of the election were announced on 15 May 2017 after the votes were casted by the official representatives of the IIPC member organization. The BA will commence its new role on the 1st of June, along with four other new members: Library and Archives Canada, the National Library of Spain, the Columbia University Libraries, and the National Library of Finland.

The Bibliotheca Alexandrina Launches “The BA African Networks”
Alexandria, 20 June 2016 –In its continuous role as a meeting point for cultures and civilizations, the Bibliotheca Alexandrina (BA) proudly launched its latest project “The BA African Networks”. The project sets a defined goal of rising to the digital challenge in order to develop African innovation through the use of science and technology in networks that extend throughout Africa.
