The Bibliotheca Alexandrina Launches “The BA African Networks”
In its continuous role as a meeting point for cultures and civilizations, the Bibliotheca Alexandrina (BA) proudly launched its latest project “The BA African Networks”. The project sets a defined goal of rising to the digital challenge in order to develop African innovation through the use of science and technology in networks that extend throughout Africa.
The “BA African Networks” is divided into five different networks; Environment, ICT, Global Health, Agriculture and Research Methods. The project connects scientists and researchers with common interests and expertise to share their knowledge and contributions.

LinkSCEEM-2 HPC Roadshow at the American University in Cairo
Alexandria, March 18, 2014: The Bibliotheca Alexandrina (BA) continues its support for researchers by organizing LinkSCEEM-2 HPC Roadshow at the American University in Cairo (AUC). The one-day event was held within the framework of the physics week, organized by the Department of Physics at the AUC. The Event aimed at raising awareness to the use of BA Supercomputer in scientific research. It is a High Performance Computing cluster suitable for specialized applications that require immense mathematical calculations; it operates at a rate of trillions of calculations per second giving optimum and accurate results.

The Digital Archive of President Mohamed Naguib
As a continuation of its mission to preserve history for future generation in digital form, and to provide free public access to a wealth of historical documents, the Bibliotheca Alexandrina launched the digital archive of President Mohamed Naguib (http://naguib.bibalex.org). The website is one of the digital archives documenting the lives of Egypt’s late presidents, their presidency periods, and how they affected the modern history of Egypt.
